a Merry Christmas

We went to the ranch for Christmas. It was nice to get away for more than a couple days. Ira had a good time too. He got to see some of his cousins and of course, spend time with Grandma and Grandpa Hatch. Kristi and I took loads of pictures.

Ira Roger with Great Grandpa Roger. I thought Ira looks like he is laughing and he looks so cute. We had a great time visiting with Shawn's Grandparents on Christmas Eve. Grandma Hatch made some good food and we played cards for awhile.

Ira doesn't keep his head up by himself all the time yet, so he had to borrow Dalley. Kristi bought these outfits they say "I still live with my parents" I thought they were so funny

Dalley and Ira played together...well atleast we discovered that Dalley really seems to like Ira, even though he doesn't get much reaction back.

On Friday Ira took his first plane ride. We went to San Antonio for my best friends wedding. He did great on the plane and great with the babysitter. That was the first time I have been away from him. I didn't cry. It was fun to be down there, even though it was a quick trip. Coming back Saturday was a little tricker due to thunder storms that shut down Dallas airport. Our original flight was cancelled and then the next one delayed 2.5 hours and then another delay when we finally got to Dallas, but we were lucky to get on an earlier flight on standby. We still got home later than planned, but earlier than what we were booked one with delays.

We got back to the ranch and still had a few days to relax. It is always hard having to come back to work and life. Holidays really spoil ya!

This weekend my Dad will be flying into visit for a few days. We are having Ira blessed on Sunday. It will be fun to have my Dad here for a few days. and finally get to meet Ira.

I also booked us flights to visit Vancouver at the end of January. I am so excited because we haven't been back since moving here. Shawn will be taking his Oregon tests while we are there and it shouldn't be long after that when he will get his license to practice there.

A Little Personality

Ira is now 3 weeks old. We had a Dr. apt for him today, I was called Ira's Mom--that's cute-- He weighs 10.5lbs now and 22in long.

We had a little photo shoot today while Ira was wide awake. He gets cuter every day! I love the faces he makes.

Sometimes he gets mad, but it usually doesn't last long.

Ira really loves baths, or atleast being wrapped up in his towel after.
I have learned that babies get very slippery when wet and soapy.

My New Assistant

After a fun weekend at the ranch, Ira and i got ready for our first day back at the office. The mornings are a little tricker getting ready, but we'll make it. The hat that he is wearing in this picture was made by a nice girl named Nicole in San Antonio Texas. It is Ira's favorite hat to wear on our walks.

It's hard to believe he is only 2 weeks old. I feel like I have had him around much longer. After working these past two days I feel tired, and would much rather play with Ira all day long, but reality check, atleast I get to have him with me all day, even if it is at work.

He still sleeps a lot. And eats a lot. And goes through plenty of diapers. He is a good kid, not too fussy at all, it's fun to sit and look at him when he is awake and stares right back. Sometime it's hard to believe that he is mine. I am loving every minute I am with him.

Here's a pic of his cute face. It doesn't show off the hair he has (though not much), but again, what can i do with a phone camera!??! I will get a hold of a camera this week and take some better pictures. He is doing really well, and Shawn and I are adjusting. Ira actually sleeps pretty well and doesn't cry all that much, so it has yet to be exhausting... knock on wood.
I will check in again soon..
