Ira's Garden

Well friends-- here is a couple pictures of Ira, in his garden. I am determined to make it the best garden of the year. Shawn has been super great getting everything in order before we started planting. We dragged an old rusty trellis that has been sitting behind the garage for years, and put it as the corner entrance to the garden. I made a sign for Iras Garden and now it is hanging on the side of the trellis for all to see. I starting making other signs to hang by the rows as well. This morning I got Ira in his overalls (thanks Kaycee) and took him out to take some photos. He just wanted to play in the dirt, but i was able to capture a few. I found the straw hat out in the garage, so im sure its from when my dad was a kid. Ira isnt a ton of help, he likes to kick the rows over, and throw around dirt where we just planted seeds, and pull out our starter plants, But he loves being outside and he loves to follow us around. He is pretty sure he is the best helper around.

I will take some more pics of the whole garden to give you a better idea, but today the focus is Ira!

When I put the memory card on my computer I saw this picture of Ira and it made me laugh again. One morning I woke Ira up and we had to go somewhere, so I got him dressed and put him down so i could look for his shoes. He followed me out of his bedroom into the living room where he laid his head against the couch and watched me run around looking for his shoes. When I found them I looked over at him and busted up laughing as how cute he was and hurried to get a picture, right as I snapped it he put his hand up, but right before this picture it was just his head keeping him upright. adorable.

Ira isnt much of a baby anymore. He is growing up so fast. He still doesnt get the whole English words thing. For a kid who talks so much, you'd think he would start figuring it out. I like to call the language chirabic.
Its cute, but I do get frusterated when he is mad about something and cant tell me. We are figuring it out though. Today I was singing silly songs and making funny noises and he was mimiking the tune and the sounds. it was pretty halarious.

We are hoping to visit Shawns family SOON! We will keep you posted, but if any of you want your own personal tour through Iras Garden, just come on up here and we can show you around! lol

We miss you all.

A Real Boy

I have not been good a blogging lately. Mostly because I havent taken any pictures of Ira and I feel that I should post pictures of him every time I blog. Its batter that way. WEll no picture today, just writing to say we are all still alive and well. Ira especially. He is really growing up. This week we have been house sitting for some friends. and just this morning I am out in the kitchen and I here these little foot steps coming. i turned and looked toward them and there was my little boy it his cute footed pjs and his just woken up sweet face. He got down from the bed all by himself and found me. I was really impressed. He can also open the doors in this house. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and he loves to open the pantry and pull things out. (The doors have handles not knobs, so we will be safe again once home lol). The best part is when I start to sweep up after he has eaten he opens the pantry and gets the dustpan out for me. Mommys little helper.

Last week Shawn really got started on our garden. It is rototilled and we started plotting and planning everything out. We are doing an 80 x 30 foot lot-- so there is a lot of work ahead of us for the summer. Ira and I were out helping Shawn too. We spent several hours outside and Ira really seemed to enjoy himself. He likes to rake with the big rake, and pick up sticks and put them in the wheelborrow like mom. I left him with Shawn just the other day and the played in the garden together. Ira gave himself a dirt bath in the garden, Shawn said it was pretty funny.

The Weather has been great here in the NW. We are a month ahead of the normal temperatures for spring which allows us to start planting early. Lots of nice sunny days and with daylight savings change last week, plenty more light in the evenings for walks or gardening or whatever we want.

I will get some pictures up soon, but they really just wont show you how much of a little boy he is turning into.
