I haven't been much into the blogging world as I was while living in Peru, (it's hard to believe we lived there 2 years ago!) maybe its because I don't feel all that excited about living in Utah?... Shawn and I have lived here for over a year and now living in a small apartment above Grandma Tobler's Bakery in Santa Clara. It is far more enjoyable than living in one room of a large house with another family, although that was pretty fun for me too.
I found out that I was pregnant back in March. It's been a whirlwind ever since. We moved into our new place the 1st of July and now we only have 4 more weeks until we get to meet our first little baby. This is a pretty dorky picture of me, but it's the most recent one I have, somehow in my pregnant absentmindedness I lost our camera a few months ago, so I rely on Shawn's family to get photos of me.
Being pregnant is a really great experience and one that is so unique in that not everyone gets to experience it, and some who do don't really enjoy it. I love it. It is so rad to have someone growing inside you and you get to feel every little movement they make, sure my attitude may change when we get to labor and delivery, but so far and am pretty taken by the whole miracle of it. Shawn and I are both pretty excited, He would have been happy with either a boy or girl, but I really wanted to have a boy, and so I win. We are going to name him Ira, I didn't think I would want to at first, but I have called him that my whole pregnancy and it's stuck. We have found out more about Shawn's family history while living here and a few generations back there was a man named Ira Stearns Hatch, and He had some kids, one named Ira who became a missionary for the church here in Santa Clara. He helped to establish good relationships with the Indians in the area. He came down with Jacob Hamblin who has a lot of history here. Shawn's family comes through Ira's brother Orin's line. I am sure there have been several boys named after Ira Stearns.
Shawn's Dad has always wanted one of his kids to name there boy Ira Stearns, I can't go with Stearns part, but I am quite happy to name him Ira. We haven't positivly decided on a middle name yet, or maybe first--not sure on the order either... But we will call him Ira, and he will become our favorite adventure I am sure.
