Ira's Garden

Well friends-- here is a couple pictures of Ira, in his garden. I am determined to make it the best garden of the year. Shawn has been super great getting everything in order before we started planting. We dragged an old rusty trellis that has been sitting behind the garage for years, and put it as the corner entrance to the garden. I made a sign for Iras Garden and now it is hanging on the side of the trellis for all to see. I starting making other signs to hang by the rows as well. This morning I got Ira in his overalls (thanks Kaycee) and took him out to take some photos. He just wanted to play in the dirt, but i was able to capture a few. I found the straw hat out in the garage, so im sure its from when my dad was a kid. Ira isnt a ton of help, he likes to kick the rows over, and throw around dirt where we just planted seeds, and pull out our starter plants, But he loves being outside and he loves to follow us around. He is pretty sure he is the best helper around.

I will take some more pics of the whole garden to give you a better idea, but today the focus is Ira!

When I put the memory card on my computer I saw this picture of Ira and it made me laugh again. One morning I woke Ira up and we had to go somewhere, so I got him dressed and put him down so i could look for his shoes. He followed me out of his bedroom into the living room where he laid his head against the couch and watched me run around looking for his shoes. When I found them I looked over at him and busted up laughing as how cute he was and hurried to get a picture, right as I snapped it he put his hand up, but right before this picture it was just his head keeping him upright. adorable.

Ira isnt much of a baby anymore. He is growing up so fast. He still doesnt get the whole English words thing. For a kid who talks so much, you'd think he would start figuring it out. I like to call the language chirabic.
Its cute, but I do get frusterated when he is mad about something and cant tell me. We are figuring it out though. Today I was singing silly songs and making funny noises and he was mimiking the tune and the sounds. it was pretty halarious.

We are hoping to visit Shawns family SOON! We will keep you posted, but if any of you want your own personal tour through Iras Garden, just come on up here and we can show you around! lol

We miss you all.

A Real Boy

I have not been good a blogging lately. Mostly because I havent taken any pictures of Ira and I feel that I should post pictures of him every time I blog. Its batter that way. WEll no picture today, just writing to say we are all still alive and well. Ira especially. He is really growing up. This week we have been house sitting for some friends. and just this morning I am out in the kitchen and I here these little foot steps coming. i turned and looked toward them and there was my little boy it his cute footed pjs and his just woken up sweet face. He got down from the bed all by himself and found me. I was really impressed. He can also open the doors in this house. I spend a lot of time in the kitchen and he loves to open the pantry and pull things out. (The doors have handles not knobs, so we will be safe again once home lol). The best part is when I start to sweep up after he has eaten he opens the pantry and gets the dustpan out for me. Mommys little helper.

Last week Shawn really got started on our garden. It is rototilled and we started plotting and planning everything out. We are doing an 80 x 30 foot lot-- so there is a lot of work ahead of us for the summer. Ira and I were out helping Shawn too. We spent several hours outside and Ira really seemed to enjoy himself. He likes to rake with the big rake, and pick up sticks and put them in the wheelborrow like mom. I left him with Shawn just the other day and the played in the garden together. Ira gave himself a dirt bath in the garden, Shawn said it was pretty funny.

The Weather has been great here in the NW. We are a month ahead of the normal temperatures for spring which allows us to start planting early. Lots of nice sunny days and with daylight savings change last week, plenty more light in the evenings for walks or gardening or whatever we want.

I will get some pictures up soon, but they really just wont show you how much of a little boy he is turning into.

indulge

Its hard to believe that a year has passed! Ira celebrated his first birthday at his grandparents ranch in Hiko Nevada. Shawn and I took him for a walk throught the fields and i baked him some chocolate cupcakes. He slept for most of the walk, but he had a lot of fun with that cupcake. It was funny to watch him. He is sure growing up fast. and becoming quite a handsome kid.

During our trip in Nevada, we decided to take a picture of Ira with his dad, grandpa and great grandpa. a treasure that he will have for life.

I thought I'd better get another post in before Thanksgiving! It was a busy couple of weeks getting all ready for Ira and me to fly down to the ranch, and of course the morning we are to leave Ira wakes up SICK! well i was worried the whole day, but he did fine. i got a few things for his cold before we left and he is feeling so much better already. We flew out of Portland last Thursday night, my boss Gary picked us up in Vegas and took us to St George. We had the priviledge of spending the night at Solinda and Camdens house, where we used to live. Camden was asleep by the time we got in and we stayed up late talking with Solinda, it was so nice to catch up. The next morning Ira woke up crying and not feeling well still, and I could hear Camden in the hallway asking Matt "hey whats that? Is that Stina??" So we got up and went out to see him. He is growing up fast! SOO handsome, we only had a minute with him, so i wasnt able to get a picture. It was great to see that family again!

We spent Friday with Gary at the office and then went to lunch with the rest of our sales reps. I gave Ira some of my guacamole before i tasted it.. he was VERY unhappy with me after that.. it was SUPER spicy! I felt horrible. WE went home with Paula and Rob to New Harmony.. While we were there Ira got a bloddy nose. he had a terrible horrible no good very bad day. I gave him a bath and he slept very well! The next morning I found that Ira is growing his back molers. i had no idea, and that explained a very slobbery and slightly grumpy baby! We met Kristi and Dalley up in Cedar City and did some shopping before finally heading to the ranch!

Ira is happy to be in one place for a few days!! He was feeling MUCH better by Monday. and starting to be more friendly with Grandma and Grandpa. He even went on the ATV with Grandpa yesterday.

He also likes playing with his cousin, Dalley, who is 9 months older than Ira and they are starting to really get along with each other. It is fun to watch them play together and be boys. I have taken them out on the ranch a couple times for a walk with the camera. Ira is learning about cows and horses and all sorts of fun things. The first day Ira stayed in the stroller because he still was feeling bad, but today he was happy to be out on an adventure. It is a little cold and windy here, but beautiful! These boys are so fun to take pictures of!

Kristi and I have been giving the kitchen and laundry room a makeover. we painted a wall red yesterday and doing the laundry room a complementary green today. Its kinda fun to have a project, and it really looks fun! We can only get so much done with these two boys running around, but we are managing it!

Ira misses his dad a lot. He likes to listen on the phone when Shawn calls and then just jabbers at him for a minute or so. super cute!! We both can't wait to see him on Thanksgiving and to have him here with us!

The boys watching cows.

I thought this was a great picture of Dalley! We were exploring on the ranch and he is such a good kid he lets me pose him and he smiles or doesnt and looks at me when I tell him. he is a REALLY great little boy!
